Call it Bingo banter, bingo nicknames or bingo lingo it all means the same thing. Bingo games, especially 90 ball bingo, where players have to make a line, two lines, or a full house in order to win often involve a special terminology for each number. These expressions are basically the rhyming words associated with each called number.

In the beginning, bingo nicknames were used so that no called number is accidentally mistaken for another and also to help caller follow a uniform rhyme, regardless of what number is being called.

This tradition, ever since, became an inherent part of the UK style bingo and is still used at some 90 ball bingo halls. Thus, it is a good idea to familiarize yourself with the associated bingo phrases for each number, should you ever visit one of these bingo halls. Generally, these names are prefixed before the number being announced, for example: tom’s tricks, number 6 or snakes alive, number 55.
